What is MSDE2000? Where can it be found?

    The database management system used for Excel Server 2008 is MS SQL Server 2000.

    For the larger company, for the purposes of security, reliability, capacity and efficiency, we suggest to use MS SQL Server 2000(Standard, Enterprise).

     For individuals or small company, we suggest to use MSDE2000(MS SQL Server Database engine) rather than MS SQL Server2000.

    MSDE2000 is contained at Office XP/2003 pack.

MS OFFICE 2003:

   Open 'Office 2003' disc from "My Computer", find OFFICE11\MSDE2000\MSDE2KS3.exe, and double click it. MSDE2KS3.EXE could run at Win98/2000Pro/XP environment.

MS OFFICE XP:

    Open 'Office XP' disc from 'My Computer', find MSDE2000, then double click 'setup.exe'.

    Installing MSDE2000A.exe :

    1. Open DOS Command Prompt,

    2. Get into extraction directory,

    3. Type command:

    setup SAPWD="sa" SECURITYMODE=SQL DISABLENETWORKPROTOCOLS=0   

    4. press [Enter].

   

    Installing MS SQL Server2000 at Windows Server2003:

    1. Follows installation wizard by using 'Administrator'.

    2. Installing MS SQL Server2000 ServicePackS3 from the following link:
