For MS Excel XP/2003, because of their security settings, in some cases, MS office automatically blocks the Excel server. It could be solved as following:
1. Open MS Excel Help
2. Click "About Microsoft Excel (A)"
3. Choose "Blocked Items"
4. Select "Esclient.dll", click "Start".
